GIOVANNA "JENNIE" (CONTE) BALASCO

89, of Cranston, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent J. Balasco. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Nicolina (Colasanto) Conte. Jennie was employed by the former Spiedel Corporation and Sears.

She is survived by her loving children Vincent Balasco and his wife Cynthia of Cranston, and Diane Tomassi and her husband Domenic of North Providence. She was the cherished grandmother of two grandsons John and David Tomassi, and four granddaughters Corinne and Doreen Tennett, and Maureen Pimentel, and Alyssa Balasco. Jennie was the great-grandmother of thirteen. She was the sister of Peter Conte of North Providence, Annie Calise of Exeter, and the late Anthony and Gino Conte, and Helen Catone.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Mark, Garden City, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
