GIOVANNA "JENNIE" (DURANTE) ASCOLI

Giovanna "Jennie" Ascoli 90, of North Providence, formerly of Providence, died Monday, March 23, 2009 at Golden Crest Nursing Home, North Providence. She was the wife of the late Joseph Ascoli. Born in Providence; she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo L. and Maria A. (Scorpio) Durante. Mrs. Ascoli was an assembler at the former Klitzner Industries of Providence for sixteen years before retiring in 1974. She is survived by her children, Ernestine M. Vota with whom she resided and her husband Rocky of North Providence, Frank A. Ascoli and his wife Paulette of Uxbridge, MA and Vincent L. Ascoli and his wife Jean of Rocklin, CA. Jennie was the grandmother of Luke, Jessica, Jacquelyn and Andrew Ascoli and Amy Brown. She was the sister of the late Louis M. Durante. Funeral from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, North Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
