86 years old, of Cranston passed away at home September 26th 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Gil was born in Providence and other than his time spent serving as an active duty Marine, Cranston was his home.
He was the son of the late Rocco and Susan (Church) Parrillo, caring husband of 50 years of the late Ann (Uciferro) Parrillo. He was also the brother of the late Robert Parrillo and his wife Betty Parrillo. Gil spent the majority of his career as a Cranston municipal employee, he made his start in the highway department and retired from the engineering department after 42 years of dedicated service. Not one to take it easy, he later put to use his practical and professional experience working part time at the Town of Johnston Building Department for another 11 years. Throughout Gil’s life he forged many relationships, in fact he remained close to so many of his school and neighborhood friends. Aside from membership and professional and social organizations, nothing was more important for Gil than his dedication he had to his children and their families. He always made a priority of being part of his grandchildren’s life, watching a ball game or helping to blow out a few candles. Gil never missed an event. He was the proud father of Steven (Susan) Parrillo, Tammy (Paul) Faiola, grandfather of Eric (Nikki) Parrillo and Ryan Salisbury, Jake and Luke Faiola, great grandfather of Amelia Parrillo.
