He came to the United States in 1967, with the desire to practice medicine and provide a bright and hopeful future for his family. He was a beloved pediatrician at the Bristol County Medical Center for 38 years, lovingly known as "Dr. D." He enjoyed every vacation with his family, traveling America by the roadside. He never stopped reading and learning about the world around him, he appreciated the beauty in classical music and nature. He was self-taught in playing the piano and mandolin, wrote several books and put together family photo albums after retirement.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Rebecca Cruley and her husband David of VA, Lori Cragan of Smithfield and Brian Darakyan of Barrington; loving grandfather of Amanda and Nathan Cruley and Melanie Cragan; and dear brother of Rose Hekimian of Australia.
