Gertrude D. (Leveillee) Ferry

90, of Providence, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Heritage Hills in Smithfield.  Gertrude was the beloved wife of the late Richard D. Ferry.  Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Amiee and Florida (Lafond) Leveillee.  Mrs. Ferry started working at Kestenman Bros Mfg. Co when she was 17 when they opened in July of 1948 and then worked at the Providence Journal until she retired.  She was a member of the Women's VFW auxiliary. Gertrude was active well into her 80's and enjoyed going out dancing, visiting Twin River, traveling, and spending time with her beloved family.

She is survived by her loving children Kathleen M. Ferry, Eileen S. Flaherty and her husband John, her breakfast buddy, Diane J. Ferry, and the late Susan P. Ferry, all of Providence.  Gertrude was the cherished grandmother of Douglas R. Ferry and his wife Monique, Matthew Ferry, and Lucas Ferry.  She was the great grandmother of Logan Ferry.  Gertrude was the dear sister of Theresa Cormier, Jeanette Mosher, and the late Irene, Robert, Lionel, Alfred and Claire, Norman Levillee and Alice Crerar, Doris Kearns, and Cecile Myers.

Her funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 12 p.m.  VISITING HOURS are on Monday MORNING from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
