Gerard Coppolelli
95, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 at St. Elizabeth’s Home in East Greenwich, RI. He was the husband of the late Ellen (Thornton) Coppolelli. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Clarence and Amelia (Marrapese) Coppolelli and a life-long resident of Cranston. He is survived by his brother Walter Coppolelli of Florida and many other loving family members.
As a US Navy veteran, he proudly served on the USS Cleveland as a Radioman, Second Class in the World War II Pacific Theater. Following the war, he returned to RI and began working as a radio and then TV repairman. As a civilian, he resumed his hobby as a ham radio operator and had a catalog of friends and contacts from around the world. He eventually opened his own business, Jerry’s TV, in Cranston and retired in 1989 after 41 years in business.
Gerard enjoyed listening and dancing the jitterbug to the Big Band greats Benny Goodman and Glen Miller to name just a few. Growing up he loved playing baseball and was a loyal, life-long San Francisco Giants fan. He also enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 9th. 2022 at the Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, at 11:00 am . Burial will immediately follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery.
