84, of Narragansett formerly of Providence, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
She was the daughter of the late Ezekiel and Anna (Orabone) Martinelli; and adopted daughter of Blanche Martinelli. She was the precious niece of the late Frances “Auntie” Orabone.
Geraldine is survived by her devoted and cherished daughters, Susan (Suzie) and Diane Elizabeth Egan.
Geraldine dedicated her life to her children and her career as a teacher to second graders for thirty years. She loved her daily mass and rosary. She enjoyed all things ice skating, beach time with family and friends, walking every day, cooking and shopping with her girls.
She always enjoyed her favorite singing and dancing shows. Our sweet Mama Geraldine was a true warrior throughout her journey on earth. She left a legacy of love, kindness, strength, integrity and honesty in her children. She was an amazing inspiration throughout our lives. Geri was a beautiful mother, sister, aunt and friend who will never be forgotten.
Geraldine’s siblings are the Hon. John Martinelli and his wife Margaret, David Martinelli and his wife Leslie; sister-in-law of Thomas Greene; and sister of the late Barbara Greene. Many nieces and nephews also mourn the loss of Aunt Geri.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 12pm in St. Augustine Church, 20 Old Road, Providence. VISITING HOURS are private for immediate family. Burial arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Geraldine Egan may be made to EWTN Television Network or your favorite charity will be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Narragansett Police and Fire Departments for their timely response and compassion. Also a very special acknowledgement of thanks to Monsignor Halloran of St. Thomas More Church for his blessing to our Mother during her preparation to see our Lord. Mama Geraldine will be forever loved missed and always remain as a light in our hearts.
