GEORGIA (DOUNETOS) HAVELES

formally of Cranston, passed away peacefully at the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew T. Haveles, together they owned and operated the Paris Restaurant for more than 30years. She later retired from the Monet Jewelry Company in 1989. Mrs. Haveles will be remembered as a person who was passionate about her family and her faith. She was an active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox church. She served on the church board,a past president of the ladies Philoptochos Society ,a past president of the Daughters of Penelope. In 1991 she was presented the Clergy Laity award from the Diocese of Boston, this award is the highest honor given to a lay person in the Greek Orthodox church. Also a former member of the Veridames of Providence College and of the Order of Eastern Star, Providence Chapter. Mrs.Haveles will always be remembered for her "award winning" baklava . She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends and her home was always open to all. She is survived by her beloved children. Elizabeth Marses and her husband Efstathios of Cranston, Olga Haveles wife of her late son Theodore Haveles, of Manchester,NH , Michael Haveles and his wife Kathleen of Cranston, John Haveles of Carmel,CA. and Col.Paul Haveles and his wife Elena Bablenis Haveles Pharm.D of Virginia Beach,VA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.She was the sister of Despina "Pat" Maintanis of Cranston, Bertha Poulakos of Ottowa, IL, and the late Spiro and Michael Dounetos, Mary Centracchio, and Margaret Sarris. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday at 10am in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Oaklawn Ave. Cranston and may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on Wednesday 4-8pm. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Annunciation Memorial Fund 175 Oaklawn Ave. Cranston, RI 02920.
