George A. Zizzari

90, of Cranston passed away peacefully on October 1, 2022.  He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Mello) Zizzari for 67 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frank and Angelina (Delligati) Zizzari.

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Angela Prew and her husband William, and Rosann White and her husband Ed; grandchildren Jason White and his wife Leigh, Sarah Elarde and her husband Greg, Nicholas Prew, Christopher White and his wife Megan; great grandchildren Owen, Abigail, Declan, and Jade.  He was the brother of the late Vincenza Allard, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

George worked for the Department of Defense for 30 years, and the R.I. Department of Corrections for 10 years.  He was a lifetime member of the Cranston Fish and Game and the Johnston Hose Company #3.  George was an avid hunter and fisherman and was most happy being at his club.

Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday morning from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. (AT THE REQUEST OF THE FAMILY PLEASE WEAR MASKS) in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston.  Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
