GEORGE M. GOSTANIAN, 90, of North Port, Florida, formerly of Warwick, RI, a retired food buyer for Brown University dining halls for 20 years, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007 in Florida. He was the beloved husband for 64 years of the late Ann R. (Abajian) Gostanian.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Manoog and Vartanoosh (Boyajian) Gostanian.
Mr. Gostanian was an administrative assistant to the food director at Brown University and was in charge of several thousand student meals contracts, before retiring in 1979. He attended Providence College and was a graduate of Bryant College.
He was a member of Armenian Euphrates Evangelical Church and former member of Knights of Vartan, Armenian Missionary Association, and The Husenig Foundation.
Mr. Gostanian was the devoted father of Robert G. Gostanian of North Port, FL and Roger B. Gostanian and his wife Joan of Warwick; loving grandfather of John J. Gostanian of Scituate; and dear brother of the late Dorothy and Ruth Gostanian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Armenian Euphrates Evangelical Church, Providence and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday 5-8 p.m.
Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
