92, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 7, 2024, in Morgan Health Center, Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Pasco Paliotti. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Rachel (Mangiarelli) Marisi. Genevieve was an office secretary at Universal Optical and Brown University.
She was a member of the St. Mary’s Feast Society Ladies Auxiliary which she held various office positions, Regina Coeli Society which she also held various office positions, VFW Auxiliary, Italian Cultural Society, Knightsville Senior Center Group, Cranston Senior Center Group, St. Mary’s Church Choir, and Red Hats Society. In 1976 she received the St. Mary’s Feast Society and Ladies Auxiliary Outstanding Benefactor Award and in 2008 she received the St. Mary’s Feast Society and Ladies Auxiliary Outstanding Member Award. Genevieve had many loves, spending time with her children and grandchildren, helping others in need, playing bocce, participating in Senior Olympics and especially chocolate. She was always ready with her “disposable” camera to capture special moments in her grandchildren’s lives. She cherished spending time with her long-time friends and reminiscing about the wonderful times they had and making new memories. She volunteered as a Budget counter for St. Mary’s Church. Genevieve had great devotion to her Catholic Faith and to the Virgin Mary and praying the rosary every day. Even though she was allergic to cheese, she will always be known for her delicious eggplant parmesan. Thank you to Morgan Health Center Memory Care Unit for their excellent care they provided to Genevieve.
Genevieve is survived by her loving children, Rachel J. Paliotti, Paula Hill and her husband Richard, and Joseph Paliotti. Cherished grandmother of Richard Hill (fiancée Haley Moniz), Meghan Hill (fiancée Eric Glittone) and Sophia Paliotti. Sister to the late Louis, Joseph, and Rachel Marisi. Sister-in-law to Margaret Marisi, and the late Alice Belhumeur, Michael Paliotti, Frank Paliotti, Thomas Paliotti, Mario Paliotti, Joseph Paliotti, and Louise King. Daughter-in-law of Pasquale and Giovannia (DiVona) Paliotti.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, April 11th, at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Genevieve Paliotti's name may be made to St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston.
