Genevieve L. (Chrostowski) Bassett

80, of Cranston passed away peacefully on Monday, September 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of Alfred L. Bassett for 60 years.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Genevieve (Chrzanowski) Chrostowski.

Genevieve was an executive secretary for Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years before retiring.

She was a practitioner of the Vedanta philosophy of the Hindu religion.  Genevieve loved her family deeply. She enjoyed spending time with her family, decorating her home, and meditating. She was the favorite to all the children in the family thanks to her own childlike spirit and would entertain them gleefully whenever she could.

Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Brenda Bassett and her husband Joseph D. Pannozzi II, of North Attleboro, MA and their son,  Joseph D. Pannozzi III and Elizabeth Bassett of Cranston; a brother, Joseph Chrostowski of Rockville; a sister, Joy Eaton of Warwick. She was the sister of the late Adam and Leon Chrostowski.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her VISITING HOURS Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 1-3pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
