Gary T. Autiello, Sr.

66, of Moore Haven, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024 with his youngest daughter by his side. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Steadman) Autiello. Born in Providence, RI, he is survived by his mother, Rose (Pagnozzi) Autiello and predeceased by his father, Anthony E. “Tony” Autiello. He is survived by his loving children, Gary Jr. (Paulina), Alisha Rovner (Boris), Selena and Christopher; as well as his 3 cherished grandsons: Giovanni, Oliver and Luca. He is also survived by his brothers, Anthony Jr., Richard, Michael, Thomas and sister, Diane.

 Gary was a former machinist for CSX rail where he worked on providing maintenance on locomotives. He enjoyed working with his hands and could often be found fixing motor vehicles, participating in landscape projects, fixing furniture and doing other household projects. He was always quick to offer his help with tough jobs for his family and members of his community.

 Gary was an outgoing, hilarious man and the energy behind every conversation. He always told the most epic, imaginative stories. He was a fan of action films, Grateful Dead, Danielle Steel novels, and all things national geographic. Gary was a big sports fan and rooted for the N.Y. Giants, N.J. Devils and N.Y. Yankees. He enjoyed golfing and never passed up a golf outing with his eldest son.

 Gary absolutely loved being outdoors. He provided countless memories of camping adventures for his children. His favorite hobby was fishing and loved experiencing it with his family and friends. 

 During his last 2 years of life, Gary embarked on a cross-country adventure with his wife. He explored Yellowstone, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Myrtle Beach and Florida.

 Gary will be immensely missed.

 A committal service will be held on Friday, January 10th, 2025 at 11am in the chapel at St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church Street, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the cemetery gates at 10:45am.
