Franklin J. Marinelli, DMD

90, of Narragansett passed away peacefully at his home on December 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Mary “Zibby” (Moss) Marinelli for fifty-eight years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late William F. and Alice (Eldridge) Marinelli.

He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.

Dr. Marinelli received his DMD from Tufts Medical School and had a private practice on Warwick Avenue in Warwick. He was also the Chief of Dentistry at the RI Medical Center, before retiring at age 79. He was a member of the American Dental Association.

Frank loved fishing on Narragansett Bay and especially in the Florida Keys with his family. For over fifty years he enjoyed hosting Fourth of July and Christmas parties for all of the Marinellis as he was happiest when surrounded by his family. He was known to everybody as “Uncle Frank”.

Besides his wife, he leaves three children, Dr. Franklin C. Marinelli and his wife Christine of Charlestown, MA, Dr. Katherine A. Schlageter and her husband Mark of Winhall, VT and Mark D. Marinelli and his wife Kidist of St. Augustine, FL; his three siblings, Mary Hanke of Warwick, Roger Marinelli of East Greenwich and Ronald Marinelli of North Kingstown; and his two cherished grandchildren, Noel and Hope Schlageter.  He was the brother of the late Louis, William and Robert Marinelli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11am in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett.  His burial will be private.  VISITING HOURS Friday from 6-8pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smile Train https://donate.smiletrain.org.
