87, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Elena (Gallo) Zito. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Angelo and Maria (DeLuca) Zito. Mr. Zito was a machine shop superintendent at Electric Boat for 15 years until his retirement. He also worked for Grinnell Corporation for 33 years. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran serving during WW II. He was a P.O.W. and a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his son Frank R. Zito, Ret.CPD of Cranston and his former daughter-in-law Phyllis Zito. He was the cherished grandfather of John and his wife Gloria of CA and Ronald and his wife Monica Taboada of Cranston. He was the brother of Joe Zito of Pawtucket, Thomas Zito of North Kingstown and the late John, Ralph, Felix, Edward, and Maria Zito.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Friday 8-10 a.m.
