Distinguished Business Leader, Countryman and Family Man
Frank A. Ronci of Cranston passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on December 6, 2008. He was the devoted husband of M. Nancy (Ferri) Ronci. Born in Providence he was the wonderful son of the late Fernando M. and Maria (Guiliano) Ronci. He was a distinguished and heroic recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in World War II. He was First Lieutenant in the Fifth Infantry Division and was Unit Commander at Metz, France in 1944. He was a graduate of Massanutten Military Academy, Woodstock, Virginia and Bryant College. Frank was president of F. Ronci, Co. and Ronci Manufacturing, Co. of North Providence; president of Cranston Lumber Co.; president of Century Products, Montreal, Canada; and president of Mearthane Products, Cranston. Frank was a member of the Board of Directors of Columbus National Bank and a member of the Board of Advisors of R.I. Hospital Trust National Bank. He was also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Massanutten Military Academy, Woodstock, Virginia. He was well known over the years, in North Providence and Lincoln for his many charitable contributions and was one of the Chief Benefactors of the late John E. Fogarty Center. He was a charter member of the Alpine Country Club and a member of Mizner Country Club, Delray Beach, Florida. Frank will be remembered as a devoted husband and as a very special uncle to many dear nieces and nephews. He was the dear brother of the late John N. Ronci of Mexico and his surviving wife Libertad (Gomarez) Ronci of Mexico and his former wife Lenore (Mastrobuono) Ronci of East Greenwich. He was the caring brother of Catherine Ronci and late husband Philip Ronci of West Palm Beach; Marie (Ronci) Camparone and husband George of Providence; Annette (Ronci) Mercurio and late husband John of Cranston; Fernanda (Ronci) Rourke and John of Wakefield; the late Anthony Ronci and wife Connie; Dolores (Ronci) Lombardi and husband James; and Frank Ronci. Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, 235 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. followed by burial with military honors in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
