70, of Greenville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the beloved husband of forty-nine years to Ann Marie (Manzo) D'Ambra. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Nicola and Mary (Crowley) D'Ambra, and step-son of the late Antonetta (Tridenti) D'Ambra. Frank was a plant manager for ACS Industries of Woonsocket for thirty-four years before retiring in 2004. Early in his career at ACS he worked with his father. After his retirement he was an associate in the grocery department at Wal-Mart in Cranston for eight years. His entire life was devoted to his family. Frank always put the needs of others before his own.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Susan Marie D'Ambra of North Providence, and Frank A. "Nicholas" D'Ambra, Jr. and his husband Jim Baklayan of Los Angeles, CA. Frank was the cherished grandfather of David M. D'Ambra, Joshua A. Naylor and Benjamin F. Baklayan-D'Ambra, and the great-grandfather of Aden Kai Naylor. He was the brother of Donna M. Gemma of Smithfield, Nancy Shappy of Warwick, Judy Crowley of Cranston, and the late Samuel D'Ambra and Anna M. Furtado.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, on Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
