Francis A. Eley, 82, of Atlantic Blvd., North Providence, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at Steere House in Providence. He was the beloved husband for 57 years of Dolores (Camuso) Eley.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Arthur C. and Mildred F. (Schatzman) Eley, he resided in North Providence sine 1960.
Mr. Eley was a driver/groundman for Narragansett Electric Company for 33 years, retiring in 1985, and was also a volunteer firefighter with the Town of North Providence for 23 years with the rank of Captain.
He was a WW-II Army veteran; Past President of Woonasquatucket Valley Fireman's League; and Committeeman for Boy Scout Troop #33 in North Providence.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Thomas F. Eley and his wife Jean of Burrillville, Michael R. Eley and his wife Elizabeth of Warwick, Norma J. Rubino of Greenville, and Lynn E. Robinson and her husband Carson of Warwick; loving grandfather of twelve; loving great-grandfather of three; and dear brother of George C. Eley of Cranston, Lillian Dann of North Providence, and Arthur W. Eley of Surprise, AZ.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Lawrence Church, 624 Woonasquatucket Ave., North Providence at 10:00 a.m.
Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
