FRANCIS J. DOWIOT

79, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday August 25, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Marie Dowiot. Francis was born in Providence, the son of the late Joseph and Agnes Dowiot. Mr. Dowiot was an Engineer for New England Electric, and was also a Korean War US Marine Corps veteran. Francis received a BSEE degree and a MBA degree from URI. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed playing golf, duck pin bowling, deep sea fishing, hiking, canoeing and sailing. Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Diane and Russell Dowiot both of Cranston, and was also the brother of Helen Bennis, Celia Gladding, Margaret DeFusco, Zenin Dowiot and the late Barbara Olman, Beverly Denoncour, Charles, Joseph and John Dowiot. His funeral will be held on Monday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St. Cranston. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 5-8 pm.
