89, of Old Pocasset Lane, Johnston and formally of Providence, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011 at R.I. Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Veasey Sr. She was born in Providence a daughter of the late Michael and Nicolina (Villella) Leo. Mrs. Veasey was employed at R.I. Hospital in the X-Ray File Department for 13 years. She was a 1939 graduate of Hope High School and R.I. School for Beauticians. Frances sang on WJAR Radio for 4 years and later on a 15 minute Radio Show with Eleanor Faria on piano.
She was the mother of Robert E. Veasey Jr. and his wife Margo, Raymond E. Veasey, Michael L. Veasey and his wife Dana and the late Laura E. Veasey-DeAngelis. She was the mother in law of Ernest DeAngelis. She was predeceased by her 2 brothers Angelo and Robert Leo. She was the grandmother of 8 surviving grandchildren and 1 deceased grandson and she also is survived by 1 great granddaughter. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Robert Bellarmine Church at 10am. VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-8pm. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Closet, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI 02919.
