84, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 23, 2011. She was the beloved wife of Vincenzo "Jimmy" Maddalena. They were married 56 years. Frances was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Thomas and Filomena (Indeglia) Pizzi.
Mrs. Maddalena's employment included the A&P potato chip plant, Hi-Hat foods, and Green Electronics. She was also a Cafeteria worker for many years for the Cranston Public Schools until her retirement. Frances truly loved her family, pets and enjoyed Italian cooking, baking, bowling, gardening, traveling, and vacationing in Florida.
Besides her husband Jimmy she is survived by her loving children, Michael Maddalena and his wife Joyce of Hope, Frances Hiltermann and her husband Roy of Cranston, and James Maddalena of Warwick. She was also the cherished grandmother of Kimberly and Daniel Hiltermann, Jessica and Jennifer Maddalena, great grandmother of Zachary and Robert Hall. Frances was also the sister of Gilda Burgess, Joseph, Antonio, Thomas Jr., Vincent, Angelo and the late Rocco Pizzi. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St.,Cranston.
