79, of Smithfield, formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late A. Joseph "Joe" Mattera, Sr. Born in Brooklyn, NY she was a daughter of the late Frederick S. and Ruth V. (Mathieu) DeRise. Florence was the owner of the former Renaissance Women Antique Shop for ten years before her retirement. She was a member of the League of Women Voters. Florence was a member of the church choir in Deerfield Beach, Florida. She enjoyed dancing, singing, and traveling.
Florence is survived by her loving children, JoAnne Andreoli and her husband Rick of Seekonk, MA, Debra Giorgi of Cranston, Ann Marie Kszytniak of Cumberland, Fred Mattera and his wife Patricia of Richmond, and A. Joseph Mattera, Jr. of North Kingstown. She was the cherished grandmother of eleven, and the great-grandmother of four. Florence was the devoted sister of Carole Martin of Deerfield Beach, FL, and Betty Jean "BJ" Holgate of Camas, WA
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
