Beloved wife of Americo DiMascio for 60 years, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the age of 86. Born in Sulmona, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Ruggiero and Loreta Ricci. On December 23, 1971, Flora along with her five children immigrated to the United States, joining her husband settling in Federal Hill, Providence. She moved to Johnston three years ago. Flora and her husband took great pride tending to their large vegetable garden and various fruit trees. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and baking pizzelle with her sisters and sister-in-law for every family celebration.
In addition to her husband Americo, she leaves behind their five children, Francesco DiMascio and his wife Rosmery of Johnston, Rosella Ricciardi and her husband Paul of Scituate, Charles DiMascio of Johnston, Loredana Walker and her husband James of Exeter, Roberto DiMascio and his wife Maria Mercedes of Providence; 13 grandchildren, Angelica Penta and her husband Michael, Letizia DiMascio and her fiancé Eric Nelson, Briana Duffy and her husband Joseph, Alison, Victoria and Gianna Ricciardi, Kristina and Charles Michael DiMascio, Samantha Boisvert and her husband Kyle, Alexandra and Andrew Walker, Dario And Sofia DiMascio and seven great grandchildren who affectionately called her “Nonnie”. Flora also leaves her sisters Rosa Gelsomini (the late Biagio) of Sulmona, Italy, and Maria DiCenso (the late Ernesto) of Braintree, MA. She also leaves her sister-in-law Concetta DiMascio (the late Giovanni) of Johnston, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Maria Addolorata “Dora” Ricci (the late Pietro).
The family would like to thank the teams at Continuum Hospice and Nursing Placement for their exceptional care and support. We would especially like to thank Lee Ann Soltys, RN, Johanna Beltre and Sandra Quinones for taking such good care of our mom.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston, RI. Entombment will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church Street, Cranston, RI.
