97, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John B. Pizzuti. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (D'Andrea) Piccirillo and step-daughter of the late Antonia (Barlettano) Piccirillo. Upon the death of her mother in the Influenza Pandemic of 1918, she went to Italy with her family where she lived until 1932, when she returned to the U.S. Mrs. Pizzuti was employed by the former Atlantic Mills until it closed and then by the Imperial Knife Company until her retirement in 1970.
She is survived by her daughters, Maria DeLuca and her husband Donato and Jean Cannata and her husband Ronald. Flora was the cherished grandmother of Maribeth Cirelli and her husband John, Anthony DeLuca and his wife Kelly, Christopher Cannata and his wife Christine, Jeffrey Cannata and his wife Jacqueline, and the late Joseph Cannata. She was the great-grandmother of Amanda, George, and Milo DeLuca and Andrew Cannata. Flora was the sister of Maria Spaziano, Tina Mattiace and the sister-in-law of Jennie Piccirillo and Antonia Piccirillo. She was preceded in death by her brother Albert Piccirillo and his wife Filomena, her sister Rose Zannini and her husband Vincent, her brothers, Luigi and Michele Piccirillo, and her sister Yolanda Gennaro.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
