89, of Cranston, passed away March 3, 2013 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Edo S. Macari. Filomena was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Eduardo and Annunziata (Companatico) Adessi. Mrs. Macari worked in the jewelry industry for many years, but devoted much of her energy to being a wonderful homemaker to a large and loving extended family.
She is survived by her loving children, Fredrick A. Macari and his wife Margaret of North Kingstown and Paul J. Macari of Cranston. She was also the proud grandmother of Daniel and Matthew Macari, dear sister of Domenic Adessi of Johnston and cherished sister of Rose Gasbarro of Cranston. Philly was also the sister of the late John, Vincent and Alfred Adessi. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Cedar Crest Nursing Center and to Beacon Hospice for their loving care of our "Sweetheart".
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Friday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI.
