Filippo Sparaco

89, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Adele (Sorbo) Sparaco.  They were married 63 years.  Born in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Italy, Filippo was a son of the late Roberto and Lucia (Liquori) Sparaco.
Besides his wife, Filippo is survived by his loving children, Luciana DiNobile and her husband Robert of CT, and Robert and Anthony Sparaco, both of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of Roberto DiNobile and his wife Lauren, Marco DiNobile and his wife Vanessa, Dominic DiNobile, Katya DiNobile, Benjamin, Christopher, Anthony Jr., Jillian, Sophia, Jessica and Cody.  He was the great grandfather of six. Filippo was the dear brother of Emma Giardino and the late Antonio Sparaco.
Filippo was affluent in seven languages.  He lived in Italy during WWII.  At the age of 18, he walked all the way to France to join the French Foreign Legion.  Filippo served nine years and traveled to Morocco, Africa, Algiers, Egypt and Vietnam, where he was during the Dien Bien Phu War period.  He also served two years in the Italian Army after the legion.  Filippo was loved by all who met him.  He was always a gentleman and was there to help all.
Mr. Sparaco’s funeral services will take place at a later date.
