91, of West Warwick, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Cedar Crest Nursing Rehabilitation Center, Cranston. He was the devoted husband of the late Assunta "Sue" (Palmisano) Funaro. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Franceschetta) Funaro. Felix was employed as a mechanic at Nick's Auto body in Providence for over fifty years, before his retirement. Mr. Funaro was a Navy Veteran who served in WWII on a submarine as a mechanic's mate. He was also an avid golfer, ran a bowling league at Town Hall lanes in Johnston for many years and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving daughter JoAnn Lovett and her husband Robert Harty of West Warwick, with whom he resided for the past four years. Felix was the brother of Sue Palmisano of Georgia, John Funaro of Johnston and the late Angelo Funaro, Mary Huftle and Santo Funaro. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Providence at 10:00 a.m. Burial, with Military Honors, will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
