F. Michael Lavin 66, of Kettle Pond Dr., Wakefield, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009. He was the adored husband of Bette Lavin for 33 years. Michael was born in Astoria, NY to the late Francis and Mary Lavin. He was a graduate of the University of Tampa in FL where he excelled in baseball and was President of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He retired as a sales director for Met Life Auto & Home in 2006. Throughout his 27 year career with Met Life, the family also resided in FL, TX, and GA. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving daughters, Kelley Lavin of Los Angeles, CA, Kate (and husband Brendan) Hames of Saunderstown, RI, Kara Lavin of Atlanta, GA, and his siblings, Maureen Klein, Thomas Lavin, Paul Lavin, Kathleen Lavin, and Gean Scutaro, all residing in NY. Michael was a family man in the truest sense. He was a fan of the Red Sox and Georgia Bulldogs. He enjoyed playing golf and the beaches of FL. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Sat., Oct. 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Peace Dale Congregational Church, 261 Columbia Street, Peace Dale, RI 02879
