formerly of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.
She was the cherished wife of the late William A. DeRouin.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alberto Norato and Prudenza (Russo) Norato. She was the loving mother of Jeanne Vinacco and her husband Robert; Nancy Thornton and her husband Thomas, III; Dear grandmother of Lisa Vinacco, Gina (Ron) Haberlin, Matthew (Melissa) Thornton, Marissa (Mehdi) Thornton-Samih great- grandmother of 4: Allison and Michael Haberlin, Jude Thornton, and Nora Evelyn Thornton-Samih Sister of Verna Cardente, Albert Norato, Ilene DiMaio, and the late Alphonse Norato,and Connie Ronci. Sister-in-law of Leo (Angie) DeRouin, Peggy (Chet) DeRouin, and Doris (Walter) Evers, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a member of the North Providence Senior Center where she enjoyed playing scrabble. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, and the game show Jeopardy (to which she wrote lyrics to the theme song). She loved music and wrote many songs that she had copyrighted. She was a member of the Sutton Street Girls who were lifelong friends.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory. 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on Tuesday, October 2nd at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Rd. Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
Visiting hours are Monday, October 1st from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.
