EVELYN A. (GUARNIERI) CHAPUT
EVELYN A. (GUARNIERI) CHAPUT, 67, of St. Croix USVI and Winchester Rd., North Smithfield, passed away Friday, April 17, 2009 at home. She was the beloved wife of Colonel Robert J. Chaput, (U.S. Army Ret.) Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Filomeno Antonio "Tony" and Domenica Francesca "Frances" (Procaccini) Guarnieri.
Evelyn was a bookkeeper and served in the U.S. Army National Guard for twelve years before retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. She was a graduate of Sawyer School of Business and Bryant College. She also attended RISD and was an accomplished artist. Besides her husband, she was the devoted mother of Laurie A. Cianci and her husband Richard Sinapi of Warwick, John A. Cianci and his wife Wendy and Edward A. Cianci and his wife Susan, all of North Smithfield, and Thomas R. Chaput of East Greenwich; loving grandmother of ten; loving great grandmother of two; dear sister of Lucille Swisher of Warwick and the late Frank Guarnieri; and loving aunt of Lorna M. Simpson of Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Slatersville Congregational Church, 25 Greene St. Slatersville (North Smithfield), and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday 4-8 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
