a beloved member of her community and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 16, 1938, in Blackstone, MA, Evelyn exemplified warmth and kindness throughout her life, leaving a profound impact on those fortunate enough to know her.
Evelyn’s professional career as a bookkeeper saw her provide dedicated service to Woonsocket Hospital, Skylanes, and Dr. Pierce, DDS, before she retired. Her meticulous nature and strong work ethic were evident in every task she undertook, earning her the respect of colleagues and clients alike. After retirement, she was a devoted and compassionate caregiver to her husband, showing remarkable strength and love throughout his journey with Parkinson’s disease.
Outside of her career, Evelyn found immense joy in the company of her family. She particularly cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren, cultivating strong bonds that enriched their lives. Evelyn was not only a devoted mother to her children—Gregory Ludovici and his wife Georgianna, Joanne Ludovici and her husband Gene Piskator, and Laurie Ludovici and her husband Tom Deneault—but a cherished grandmother to Lexie, Tasha, Brianne, Christian, Conor, Annie Cate, Julia and Thomas “TJ”. Her legacy extends to her great-grandson, Kayden Smith, who brought her endless joy. She also leaves her brother, Maurice Rivet.
One of Evelyn’s proudest accomplishments was learning how to fly and completing a solo flight in a Cessna 150. She enjoyed birdwatching, playing Scrabble, doing puzzles, indulging her passion for reading and her nightly rosé (pink juice). Her lively spirit and interests were a source of inspiration for those around her.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Joseph S. Ludovici, and her parents, Eugene and Josephine (Sweck) Rivet. She also mourned the loss of her siblings: Arlene Barabas, Ronald Rivet, and Lorraine L'Heureux. Despite these losses, she remained a pillar of strength and love for her family.
The memory of Evelyn will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, who will forever remember her gentle spirit, unwavering support, and the laughter she brought into their lives. Her presence will be deeply missed but always cherished.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory - SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett.
