EUGENE E. DAIGNAULT

74, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at home. He was the beloved husband of Sylvia T. (Tancrede) Daignault. They were married for fifty-two years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Roland E. and Rose (Guertin) Daignault. Mr. Daignault was an assistant controller for Textron Inc. for twenty-five years until his retirement. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Providence College, Class of 1962. Eugene was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War era. He began his career in San Diego, CA with Peat Marwick & Mitchell as a CPA. While in San Diego he was a member of the Society of Certified Public Accountants. Eugene was a member and past president (1982-1983) of the Financial Executives Institute, Providence Chapter. He was a recipient of the Pride in Performance award for outstanding achievement. Eugene was awarded a Silver Award for outstanding service for the United Way.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Eugene E. Daignault, Jr. and his wife Leona of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Deborah L. Parker and her husband Christopher of Burrillville, and Kevin G. Daignault and his wife Rhonda of Hampton, VA. He was the cherished grandfather of Brian , Julie, Gabriel, Abigail, and Theresa. Eugene was the brother Roland Bleu and his wife Joan of CA, Nancy DuVally and her husband Jack of MA, Carol Demers and her husband Jerry of CA, Elaine West and her husband James of MO, Kenneth Daignault and his wife Buffy of CA and Beverly Brosinski of RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion Burial will be private.
