Etta (Hassell) Avella

formerly of Johnston and Narragansett, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Carmella (Castriotta) Hassell.

She was the devoted mother of Rebecca Quattrocchi of North Kingstown, Sherry Avella of Cranston, Jo-Ann Aloi of Highland Beach, FL, Jonna Polsky of Stuart, FL and John A. Avella of Shrewsbury, MA; cherished grandmother of Aria, Rebecca and Nathan; dear sister of Judith Hassell of Foster, Lewis Hassell, Jr. of Warwick, Paul Hassell and his wife Dianne of Johnston and Dennis Hassell and his wife Mary of Scituate; and wife of the late John Avella.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Friday, February 25th at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m.  Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Friday Morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
