Ethel T. (Whitaker) LaLonde, 87, formerly of D'Evan Manor, Cranston St., Cranston, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at West Shore Health Center in Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert J. LaLonde.
Born in Holyoke, Ma, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Burgen) Whitaker.
Ethel was a claims processor at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Warwick for 15 years, before retiring and was a volunteer at the Cranston Senior Center.
She was the devoted mother of Kenneth G. LaLonde of Warwick and Marilyn B. Griffin of Tampa, FL; stepmother of the late John G. Lalonde; loving grandmother of five grandsons; and dear sister of Lorraine Bail of South Hadley, MA and the late Ruth Turgeon and Jean McKay.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, 1493 Cranston St., Cranston.
Interment will be private at Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley, MA. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
