95, of Johnston, passed away Sunday December 13, 2020 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence due to complications of Covid-19.
He was the beloved husband of the late Rosa Elia (Penzo) Paolantonio.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Angelina (Colonna) Paolantonio. He was a WW-II army veteran who served in the Battle of the Bulge.
Ernest was a locksmith for many years and was the former owner of Pal’s Diner, also worked at J&J Hardware for many years.
He was the devoted father of Ernie J. Paolantonio of Johnston, Julie Lefebvre and her husband Michael of Warwick and Dino G. Paolantonio of Providence. He was the dear brother of Robert Paolantonio of North Providence, Richard Paolantonio of Narragansett, Rosemarie Janelle of Warwick and the late Frank Paolantonio and Alfred Paolantonio; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
He was an avid New York Yankee fan and also enjoyed golfing, bowling and a good meal. He also enjoyed spending time with his companion Rosemarie Izzo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday December 21, 2020 at 12 noon with limited seating at Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave. Providence. Private Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: RI Veterans Home 480 Metacom Ave. Bristol, RI 02809.
