ERNEST GIORDANO

ERNEST S. GIORDANO, 88, of Galileo Avenue, died on Sunday, March 23, at The Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Jennie (Paolella) Giordano, to whom he was married for 61 years. Originally from East Providence, he was the son of the late Luisa (Angiolillo) and Giuseppe Giordano. He worked his entire career in the auto body repair business, owning and operating the former Freeway Auto Body on Valley Street in Providence until his retirement in 1986. He also worked professionally as a musician for over 60 years, playing the upright bass and later an electric bass for prominent music contractors in RI. A veteran of WW II, Ernest served in the US Army Air Corps for four years and was stationed in Alaska prior to his discharge at the end of the war. In addition to a passion for music, he was an avid gardener and an unwavering Yankees fan. He was a member of the San Bernardo Society of Providence for more than 65 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph and Ernest Giordano, both of Barrington, a daughter, Louise Ricci, of West Warwick, and grandchildren Michael, Erica, Peter, Jeannine, Maggie, Will, and Caroline. He was the brother of Joseph Giordano of Cranston, Bessie Quaranto and Barbara Piccirilli, both of Johnston, and the late Bruno Giordano. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Avenue Cranston on Thursday at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Sacrament Church , 179 Academy Avenue , Providence at 10:00 am. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4-9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to: The Miriam Hospital Foundation, P.O.
