Ernest "Ernie" DiCaprio, 90, of Cranston, died peacefully at home with his loving family with him. Son of the late Paul and Rosa (Vellucci) DiCaprio. Husband of the late Camilla "Millie" (Angelotti) DiCaprio.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served overseas during WW-II. Ernie owned and operated Arlington Esso Gas Station in Cranston for many, many years and later enjoyed retirement and traveling with his lovely wife Millie. Ernie was a founding and honorary member of the Alpine Country Club, "his home away from home". He loved golfing and was a proud recipient of the Ben Hogan Hole In One Award.
Ernie is survived by his loving sister Eva Romano and his many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lena Coletti, Vera Izzo and Ida Castrovillari.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mark's Church, 9 Garden Court, Cranston at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
