110, of Putnam Pike, Johnston passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, May 10, 2021 at home. She was the wife of the late Carmine Pezza. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Francesco and Carmina (Masi) Rotondo. Emma was the owner of C. Pezza & Son, Inc. for many years.
As the matriarch of her entire family, she was passionately devoted to nurturing and guiding with unconditional love and unwavering faith. She was always available to listen and inspired all who knew her to love and forgive without limits. Emma was an amazing cook who welcomed all into her home and ensured that no one ever left hungry. The definition of selflessness, she found true happiness in life by giving and doing for others with never ending generosity. Emma was a member of the St. Ann Solidarity at Our Lady of Grace Church and the oldest member of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America.
She was the beloved mother of Leonard of North Providence, Virginia and her husband Anthony Squizzero of Johnston, and the late Constance Pezza. Emma was the cherished Mama of 6 grandchildren, Grandma of 11 great grandchildren and great-great grandmother of 6. She was the sister of Angela McCord of Johnston, and the late Julia Petrolino, Gesualda Butera, Aggripino, Arthur, Harry, John, Julio, and Frank Rotondo.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston at 11:00 a.m. Masks are required. Burial will be held in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Our Lady of Grace Church Memorial Fund, 4 Lafayette Street, Johnston, RI 02919.
