EMILIO "MAL" PETRONIO, 92, of Pocasset Ave., Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Marguerite Y. (Nardolillo) Petronio.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Raphaello and Eva (Venetillo) Petronio, he was a lifelong Providence resident.
Mr. Petronio was the owner and operator of the former Mal's Furniture Company in Warwick for 30 years before retiring, and was also the owner of several other businesses including a farm, gas station and baby store.
He was the devoted father of Richard E. Petronio and his wife Rebecca of Cranston and Pauline C. Petronio of Providence; loving grandfather of Sarah M. Petronio; and dear brother of the late Mary Toti, Emily Piccione, Catherine DiCecco, and Thomas, Pasco and Adam Petronio.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, Friday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew's Church, Laurel Hill Ave., Providence at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
