ELVIRA (DE SIMONE) HEWES

86, of New Bedford, MA, formerly of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at St. Ann's Hospital in Fall River, MA. She was the wife of the late Robert B. Hewes, Sr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Catolino) DeSimone. Elvira was an assembler for the former General Electric Company and was also employed by Swarovski Crystal Company for many years before her retirement.

Elvira is survived by her son Matthew J. Hewes of Grapevine, TX, her niece Kathy Hope and her husband Michael of New Bedford, MA and her grandson Bobby Hewes of CT. She was also the mother of the late Robert B. Hewes, Jr. Elvira was the sister to Rose Andrews of California and the late Edith Stafford.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
