ELLA E. (CROCE) DeMARIA

95, of Waller St., Providence, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony DeMaria. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Sciarretta) Croce. Ella worked at the Providence Public Library for many years before retiring. She was the devoted mother of Lisa DeMaria Mayne and her husband Kevin Mayne of East Greenwich and Ellen DeMaria of Niantic, CT; loving grandmother of Avonlea and Helene Mayne; and dear sister of the late Dr. Gene A. Croce. An avid reader, Ella enjoyed talking about old times, family history, and going out to eat at Gregg's in Warwick. She was feisty, determined, funny, direct and endearing. The family would like to thank the caregivers who embraced Ella with love and affection. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 10th at 10 a.m. in The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 179 Academy Ave., Providence. Burial to follow at St. Ann's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
