Elizabeth "Betty" (Cardi) Paolella

of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio “Tony” Paolella for 63 years. She was born in Cranston, daughter of the late Domenico and Rosa (Corpolongo) Cardi.

Betty graduated from Cranston High School in 1941. Upon graduation, she was employed by the McKesson Corp. as a secretary. In 1948 she graduated from the RI Academy of Hairdressing. In the years that followed, she was employed by the Cranston School Dept. as a secretary to the principal for nearly forty years. After retirement, she was a volunteer at the RI Food Bank. Betty was a devout parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church.

Betty was a very talented pianist and had a great appreciation for music. She and her husband, Tony, enjoyed Ballroom and Square dancing, skiing, traveling, and most of all, loved spending time with their family. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children Landy Paolella MD and his wife Pati, Peter A. Paolella and his wife Susan and Robert Paolella MD.

She was the cherished Grandma of Alexa, Jesse, Gian, Domenic, Gino, Sebastian, Elizabeth and Emma, and the Great-Grandma of Ava and Sofia.

She was the sister of the late Rev. Rolando Cardi, Irene Quintavallo, Peter Cardi, Angelina Cantone, Dr. Aphonse Cardi, Paul Cardi, Nicholas Cardi, Mary Barone and Dr. Erminio Cardi.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston.

(MASKS ARE REQUIRED)

Due to Covid, Visiting Hours are omitted and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr., Cranston 02920.
