Elizabeth G. "Betty" Marshall 91, of Kingstown Road, Peace Dale, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Scallop Shell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was raised in Boston, where she met and married her love, Arthur Marshall who died in 1980. Born in Worcester, MA, Betty was the only child of the late Stephen J. and Theresa (Grogan) Bradshaw. Together they raised their loving children, John A. Marshall and his wife Andrea of Narragansett, Nancy Marshall Hardendorf and her husband David of Putnam, CT and Paul J. Marshall and his wife Susan of North Kingstown. Her Sense of humor will live on in her cherished grandchildren, John P. Marshall and his wife Marianne of Narragansett, Heather J. Marshall of Newport, Kyle G. Hardendorf of Putnam, CT and Elizabeth Marshall of North Kingstown. Grammy was affectionately called "the bag lady" by her grandchildren because she always arrived with bags of goodies and surprises. Besides taking care of her family, Betty was a member of the Westerly Garden Club, Pequot Golf Club and was a volunteer at Westerly Hospital for over twenty-five years. She was an avid gardener and after the death of her husband added a greenhouse to her home. Betty adored all living things. In her memory make someone laugh today! Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt.1A) Narragansett. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 143 Main Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
