Elizabeth G. (Rice) Eley Of Woodland Dr. Coventry passed away peacefully Wednesday August 19, 2009 at home. She was the former wife of Arthur W. Eley Sr. Born in Providence she was the daughter of Earl and Edith (Bowers) Rice. Elizabeth graduated from Central High School in 1948. She was the owner and operator of Elizabeth's Fashions in Cranston and North Providence. She then became a pioneer in the tanning business owning and operating Branch Avenue Tanning and after many years moved to Warwick and opened Governor Francis Tanning. She has left behind her loving children, Cheryl L. Eley of East Greenwich, Arthur W. Eley Jr. of Surprise Arizona and Timothy J. Eley and his wife, Kerry also of Surprise Arizona. Cherished grandmother of Lauren A. Eley of South Kingstown. Elizabeth was the cherished sister of Carol Gurjian of Scituate, Earl Rice of Las Vegas and her dear sister Janice Bood. Elizabeth was the ultimate, mother, grandmother and devoted wife. She was kind, gentle and grateful for anything we did for her. Her favorite times were spent with her family and she devoted her life to us. She loved to entertain and was an unbelievable cook. (oh what a cook!) Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. in Cranston, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 am at the Full Life Christian Fellowship West Warwick. She will then be cremated and her burial will be private. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday 5-8 pm.
