ELENA J. (PINTO) MASTRIANI
Elena J. (Pinto ) Mastriani, of 29 South Pier Rd., Narragansett, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Scallop Shell Nursing Home , Peace Dale surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Ralph Mastriani. She was born in Providence a daughter of the late James and Rose (Rosinogli) Pinto. Your day would be brightened if you met Elena; she was always active, upbeat and always wore a smile. She came to Narragansett 55 years ago and was employed in the Narragansett Town Hall Building Inspectors Office as a secretary, retiring in 1967. She became a South County Hospital volunteer for many years and learned about the Senior Companion Program. She was a Senior Companion for 5 years visiting many homebound clients and received a citation from Gov. Donald Carcieri for recognition for her Compassionate Service to Elders through the Senior Companion Program. She was a member of the Pond View Country Club and an avid golfer for 25 years. She was the devoted mother of Carolyn Walsh and her husband James Jr. of Palm City, FL, Ralph Mastriani and his wife Althea of Kapaa, Hawaii and the late Robert R. Mastriani. She also is survived by her grandchildren, James Walsh III, John P. Walsh and his wife Susan, Robert Mastriani, Paul Mastriani and four great grandchildren, Katherine Elena, Jacqueline Gail, Grace Caroline and Patrick James Walsh. She was also the sister of Grace Paolino of No. Providence and the late Angelina Isabelle. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10: am in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Scallop Shell Staff Appreciation Fund, 981 Kingstown Rd., Peace Dale, RI. or the Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997.
