ELENA I. (MARIANO) ALVITI

89, of Johnston previously of Narragansett, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Morgan Health Center in Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Italo Alviti. Born in Cranston, Elena was the daughter of the late Michael and Maria J. (Rega) Mariano. Mrs. Alviti was employed as a sales clerk for the former F.W. Woolworth Co. for eight years until her retirement in 1973. She is survived by her children Bernice Giramma of Narragansett, Richard Alviti of Johnston and was the mother of the late Linda Alviti. Elena was the sister of Virginia Guglielmo and Mary Pagliarini, both of Cranston, Margaret Cocia of East Greenwich, Michael and Ralph Mariano, both of Cranston and the late Carmela Raviele, Rachel Alviti and Rose Malone. Mrs. Alviti was the grandmother of four and great grandmother of six. Her funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
