Eleanor ‘Joan’ Giorgio, 84, of Cranston passed away Thursday September 15, 2022 with her family by her side. Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Guido and Briga ‘Bea’ (Zambarano) Policelli. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony (Tony G) Giorgio; they were married nearly 60 years, prior to his passing in 2019.
Joan was a devout catholic with a disciplined faith; filled with so much wisdom and a spiritual passion. She had a dedication to her parish; volunteering and teaching CCD for over 40 years at St. Rocco Church.
She was the epitome of a conservative, gracious, dignified woman, and never had an ill word to say about anyone. Joan enjoyed playing the piano, having spiritual conversations, watching sports with her husband, family dinners, family reunions, and celebrating holidays with her family. She wasn’t one for much travel but loved the ocean, and one of her favorite memories was driving cross country with her husband and mother, visiting the state parks along the way. She enjoyed the company and was in awe of God’s creations.
Joan was the loving and devoted mother to her three sons and their wives: Mark and Robin of Fort Worth, TX, Victor and Wendy of Cranston, and Eric and Cindy of Johnston. She was the cherished grandmother of Kerri, Lindsay, Jan, Ronnie, Jocelin, Jared, and Matthew; and the great grandmother to Tiana, Tayah, Noah, Jade, Jordyn, Nathan, Azlynn, Damien, and Jacob.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday September 21, 2022, at 9:00 am at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Rocco Church, Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to St. Rocco School, 931 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI 02919.
