ELAINE L. (NARDOLILLO) CHASE

76, of Longview Drive Cranston, passed away Saturday May 7, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Esther (Zambarano) Nardolillo.

Elaine worked at Brown University in the Chemistry Department for 43 years before retiring. She was a member of the Brown University Faculty Club.

Elaine was the beloved mother of Dr. John T.A. Romano and his wife Rosemary of Warwick; loving grandmother of Christian, Andrew, Matthew, Adam and Jacob Romano; dear companion of Antonio "Tony" Caprio for the past 22 years; and dear sister of Henry Nardolillo of North Providence. She had been the devoted wife of the late Irving Chase.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church Oaklawn Ave. Cranston at

9 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
