Elaine Claire Brogno (Delfino) entered into eternal life on December 15, 2023. She was born on September 28, 1943 in So. Attleboro, MA and lived in the Woodlawn section of Pawtucket, RI throughout her childhood. She was a graduate of Pawtucket West High School and continued at her education at the Brown University extension campus. A talented writer, she was in advertising for many years as a copywriter. She worked for many Rhode Island landmarks including Peerless and Shepard’s before joining the Ann & Hope Company where she became copy chief before retiring.
Elaine spent her retirement years crafting, painting, participating in craft shows, and camping with her husband, Bill. She wrote and published a children’s book entitled Mama Roo and Joey, too, which she was very proud of. She was happiest in her beloved East Matunuck where she enjoyed the beach, a good sunset and the smell of salt air. Family was everything to her, and she lovingly cared for her parents and her husband in later years. She loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren over a good meal; she was an excellent cook and loved to feed everyone.
She leaves behind her much loved children; Kendra Ulmschneider and her husband William, Todd Brogno and his partner Joyce, Shayne Brogno, Jarrett Brogno and his wife Monique. In addition, she leaves 3 bonus sons; Johnny Brogno and his wife Lori, Salvatore Brogno and his wife Maria, and William Brogno and his partner Betty; six cherished grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Elaine is predeceased by her husband of 47 years, William, her parents George and Jeanette Delfino, and her sister Carol Velleco and her husband, John.
Due to health issues, Elaine spent her last few years at the Scallop Shell where staff and dear friends became a second family to her. She enjoyed her activity groups and loved to sing in the chorus. She always had a deep faith in the Lord, and is now home and at peace. She was so loved, and will be missed by all who knew her.
