Edythe M. (Carnevale) Laudati

Edythe Maria Carnevale Laudati was born in Providence, R. I. on November 21, 1918. She married Hector Laudati, a prominent R.I. lawyer and Providence City Councilman and they had 3 children. She was an exceptional partner to her husband and a loving and devoted mother to her children. Edythe was very involved with charitable causes, notably the “White Sisters” organization which provided support to a religious order of nuns. Edythe became notable in the Rhode Island community for her Christmas-related endeavors, especially for her 2000-plus item Santa Claus figure collection which appeared in both print and televised media. For the last 8 years of her life she resided in California with her daughter Rosalyn and son-in-law James Pick.

Edythe is survived by her daughter Rosalyn, son-in-law James Pick; daughter Laraine, and son-in-law Harald Sonnberger; son David and daughter-in-law Lee and grandsons Nicholas and Christopher Laudati.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston on Monday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, immediately following the mass.  In place of flowers, donations to the Edythe M.
